If you are planning a trip to Oman or a resident planning a trip overseas, and public transport is not an option, it is a good idea to rent a car. For renting a car abroad, you must acquire an International Driver’s License (IDL) in order to rent a car and legally drive in the country.

The IDL serves as a proof that you hold a valid driver’s license in your country of residence. It will act as a shield for you and your family members in the event of an accidental and/or vehicle damage while driving abroad, or in case you lose your legal identification such as a passport. The IDL is recognized all over the world and is available in 8 most common foreign languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, French, Arabic and Chinese) in order to help overcome language barriers.
